Abstract
Abstract: Nanocrystalline MgAl2O4 spinel powder was synthesized using metal nitrates and a
polymer matrix-based composed of sucrose and polyvinyl alcohol (PVA). The precursor and the
calcined powders were characterized by simultaneous thermal analysis (STA), X-ray diffraction
(XRD), Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FT-IR), and scanning electron microscopy
(SEM). According to XRD results, the inceptive formation temperature of spinel via this technique
was between 600°C and 700°C. The average crystallite size of calcined powder at 800°C for 2h
was in the range of 8-12nm. In addition, SEM micrograph showed that the synthesized powder had
a spherical morphology.

Abstract: The effect of phase development on peel strength of alumina-copper metalized joint has
been investigated. The alumina-copper joint was prepared in three stages. The alumina substrate
was, first, metalized at 1500°C in H2-furnace by a new formulation. In the second step, a nickel
layer was electroplated on the metalized layer with approximately 10µm thickness. Finally, copper
strips were bonded to metalized alumina with Ag-Cu (72-28) filler metal. The peel strength of the
joint was 9.5±0.5 Kg/cm which shows approximately 30% increase in comparison to previous
works. By study of fracture surface and crack propagation path, it has been concluded that this
increase is due to the formation of more spinel phase.

as magnetic materials, semiconductors, pigments, catalysts, refractories and electronic ceramics. In this paper, we
reported the preparation of NiAl
The resulting powder was chracterized by XRD, particle size analysis and SEM. The XRD patterns show that the
combustion technique was excellent to prepare single – phased cubic NiAl
found to be around 14 nm. From the particle size analysis, it was found that the 50 % of the particles lie below 30
µm. The micrographs show the formation of fluffy agglomerates composed of fine particles.

composition of MgO and nano boehmite. The reactant and potassium chloride, as the reaction media, were fired at
800-1000 °C at different dwell times (0.5-5 h) in the ambient atmosphere. After washing and filtration, the spinel nano
powder was characterized by X-ray diffraction (XRD), Scanning electron microscopy (SEM), and Brunauer-Emmett-
Teller (BET) techniques. It was demonstrated that the formation temperature decreased to 850
particles revealed an average size of 30 nm with a narrow size distribution. The mechanism of MgAl
was found to be a template type where the morphology and size of product were similar to those of alumina formed
from boehmite decomposition. Prolonging the reaction time from 0.5 to 3 h, the reaction was further completed and
crystallinity was improved. However, the increase of temperature was more effective in this regard.

MgAl2O4/Ti(C,N) composites were synthesized through aluminothermic reaction between Al,TiO

powders and phenolic resin in coke bed condition. Effect of addition of carbon black and sugar into the mixture at
different temperatures were investigated. The phases and microstructures of samples were investigated by X-ray
diffraction (XRD) and scanning electron microscopy (SEM). MgAl
2O4
/Ti(C,N) composites without additive were
obtained after heat treatment at 1600˚C. With addition of carbon black TiC, TiN and Ti(C,N) were appeared after firing
at 1400˚C and formation of spinel/Ti(C,N) composites were completed at 1600˚C. In sample containing sugar,
MgAl2O4
-Ti(C,N) composite were completely synthesized at 1400˚C. In this sample crystallite size of Ti(C,N) were 32
nm and carbon content of titanium carbonitride (Ti(C,N)) reached to 0.442 value.

Abstract
In this research, using impregnation method, spinel cobalt and copper ferrites nanoparticles are synthesized on the surface of hematite. Synthesized powders were characterized and examined by FTIR, XRF, XRD, FESEM, BET and EDS analysis and the dye degradation were investigated by UV-vis and AAS methods. Specific surface area increased especially in the sample containing cobalt, which indicates the precise of synthesis and the creation of high surface nano particles at hematite surface. The size of particles was in the nano scale and a good uniformity observed in the structure. The results indicated a significant increase in the catalytic ability of hematite nano composite after synthesis. Their catalytic capability investigated by the Fenton reaction with complete removal of methylene blue from the solution via UV-vis irradiation. The samples stability discovered to be excellent by the AAS method.
